His works are in private and official collections throughout the Moroccan territory, also in some countries like Spain, France, Italy, United States, Tunisia, Iraq, Syria etc. He died in 2009

On March 3 is the birthday of

Esaias Boursse, Dutch painter born in Amsterdam in 1631.
We know nothing more about the education of Esaias Boursse, other than the fact that he travelled to Italy in about 1650 to study the great Renaissance examples.
In the past art historians have tried to place him among Rembrandt's pupils. There is no objective evidence at all to prove this though. Boursse's financial position will not have been good. He travelled to Ceylon (nowadays called Sri Lanka). Boursse drew the inhabitants, landscapes and city views, which have been preserved in an album which can be found in the print room of the Rijksmuseum.
Boursse's work mainly deals with family life. Women spinning or sewing and families around a fireplace are examples of what to expect. About 28 paintings remain of his work, mostly in private collections.

Asger Oluf Jorn, Danish painter, sculptor, ceramic artist, and author. He was a founding member of the avant-garde movement COBRA and the Situationist International. He was born in Vejrum (1914), in the northwest corner of Jutland, and baptized Asger Oluf Jørgensen.
In 1936 he traveled (on a BSA motorbike he had scraped together enough money to buy) to Paris to become a student of Kandinsky. However when he discovered that Kandinsky was in straitened circumstances, barely able to sell his own paintings, Jorn decided to join Fernand Léger's Académie Contemporaine; it was during this period that he turned away from figurative painting and turned to abstract art. In 1937 he joined Le Corbusier in working on the Pavillon des Temps Nouveaux at the 1937 Paris Exhibition.
During the course of his artistic career he produced over 2500 paintings, prints, drawings, ceramics, sculptures, artist's books, collages, décollages, and collaborative tapestries.
He died in Aarhus, Denmark on 1 May 1973.

On March 4 is the birthday of

Nexhmedin Zajmi, Albanian painter and sculptor born in 1916. In 1931 he graduated from technical school in Tirana where he discovered his artistic talent. He later studied with renowned sculptor Odhise Paskali, and in 1939 he went to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he graduated in 1943. On his return to Albania, he worked as a teacher in a public school in Tirana. He was director of the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana from 1955 to 1956.
From 1963 he taught at the School of Fine Arts in Tirana. He specialized in portraits of the inhabitants of the mountains of northern Albania. He also painted landscapes and genre scenes. He died in 1991.

Rodolfo Galeotti Torres, renowed Guatemalan sculptor borin in 1912 in Quetzaltenango.
He served as director of the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas Rodolfo Rodríguez Padilla. He created sculptures for National Palace in Guatemala City, including renditions of the Coat of Arms of Guatemala. In 1970, he created a renowned bronze of Tecún Umán, which is on display in Quetzaltenango. On May 16, 1988, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Guatemala.
Galeotti Torres died May 22, 1988 in Guatemala City.

On March 5 is the birthday of

Giovanni Battista (Giambattista) Tiepolo, Italian painter and engraver born in 1696, one of the most important figures of Italian Rococo.
Baroque chiaroscuro leads to light colors in his art. In Venice developed a new genre, the vedutte, that is, detailed views of Venice, highly appreciated by foreign travelers.
His work emphasizes the "enlightenment" of specific parts of the picture. Light colors highlight impressions or ideas such as purity or divine. He had a knack for drawing, making ethereal and graceful compositions. His painted ceilings, illusionist effect, fool the eye and seem open to the sky.

Joan-Josep Tharrats i Vidal, Catalan, Spanish painter, art theorist and publisher born in Girona (Spain), in 1918.
From 1932 to 1935 he lived in Béziers, before relocating to Barcelona where he studied at the Escola Massana. The Spanish Civil War brought his studies to an end, and he wouldn't resume his art career until 1942. His initial style was akin to Impressionism but moved into abstraction as the influence of Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky became more important to him. From 1946 on he used collage techniques.
He was one of the most visible artists in the local avantgarde art of the post-war years. His style evolved from lineal abstraction influenced by surrealism (during his Dau al Set years) towards Art Informel working with texture, color and graphism.
He died in 2001.

On March 6 is the birthday of

Michelangelo Buonarroti, Michelangelo, born in 1475 in Caprese. Architect, sculptor and Italian Renaissance painter, considered one of the greatest in history, developed his artistic work over more than seventy years between Florence and Rome, where his patron lived, the Medici of Florence, and the Roman popes.
He was the first Western artist to have two biographies published in life: "Le Vite de 'più eccellenti pittori, scultori, ed architettori" by Giorgio Vasari, published in 1550 in its first edition, in which he was the only living artist included and "The life of Michelangelo Buonarroti," written in 1553 by Ascanio Condivi, painter and pupil of Michelangelo, which collects the data provided by the same Buonarroti. He was greatly admired by his contemporaries, who called him the Divine.

Ejler Billewas, Danish artist born in Odder, Denmark, in1910. He studied at the Kunsthåndværkerskolen in Copenhagen, with Bizzie Høyer 1930–1932 and the Royal Danish Academy of Art, 1933. In 1934 he joined Linien, Corner in 1940 and CoBrA in 1949. He had concentrated on small sculptures, but moved into painting after joining CoBrA. In 1969 he was Guest Professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Art.

On March 7 is the birthday of

Boris Mikhaylovich Kustodiev (Борис Михайлович Кустодиев), Russian painter and stage designer born in 1878 in Astrakhan. Studied in theological seminary and received art classes Pavel Vlasov, a pupil of Vasily Perov. From 1896-1903, he attended the Ilia Repin's workshop at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, with whom he worked as an assistant. He first exhibited in 1896. Between 1904 and 1909 he visited France, Spain, Italy, Austria and Germany, and during this period he painted mainly portraits and genre works.
In 1905, Kustodiev first is devoted to the illustration of books, a genre that would cultivate during the rest of his life. Paraplegic in 1916, thereafter being confined to his room. He died in 1927.

Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, English painter born in 1802, well known for his paintings of animals - particularly horses, dogs and stags. The best known of Landseer's works, however, are sculptures: the lions in Trafalgar Square, London.
He was something of a prodigy whose artistic talents were recognised early on. He studied under several artists, including his father, and the history painter Benjamin Robert Haydon, who encouraged the young Landseer to perform dissections in order to fully understand animal musculature and skeletal structure. Landseer's life was entwined with the Royal Academy. At the age of just 13, in 1815, he exhibited works there. He was elected an Associate at the age of 24, and an Academician five years later in 1831. He was knighted in 1850, and although elected President in 1866 he declined the invitation. He died in 1873.
"The Monarch of the Glen" was commissioned as part of a series of three panels to hang in the Palace of Westminster in London. It was one of the most popular paintings throughout the 19th century, and reproductions in steel engraving sold very widely.

Today, March 8, is the birthday of

Manuel Blasco Valdés, Manolo Valdés, Valencian painter and sculptor born in 1942, based in New York (USA). He introduced to Spain a form of artistic expression that combines the political and social commitment with humor and irony.
Influenced by Velázquez, Rembrandt, Rubens and Matisse, Manolo Valdés makes a large format work in which the lights and colors express a sense of tactility for the treatment of the materials. His work tackles the beholder to investigate memory and search for significant images from art history. He performed between the years 1965 and 1981, more than 70 exhibitions, both individual and collective.

Johann Köler, leader of the Estonian national awakening and a painter born in 1826. He distinguished himself primarily by his portraiture and to a lesser extent by his landscape paintings. Some of his most notable pictures depict the Estonian rural life in the second half of the 19th century.
Despite the poverty of the parents Köler managed to attend the elementary and the district schools in Viljandi, Livonia. Then he attended a workshop of master painters in Võnnu. In 1846 he travelled to St. Petersburg to work as a sign writer, where his talent was soon discovered. From 1848 to 1855 Johan Köler studied drawing and painting at the St. Petersburg Imperial Academy of Arts.
The peak of Johann Köler's career coincided with the rise of the Estonian national awakening and he used his position in the imperial court to promote the cause of the Estonian people. He died in 1899.
