Curiot [Pintura, Murales]

As we know, Mexican mural painting has a more prominent tradition -enough to remember the magical trio Rivera - Orozco - Siqueiros. Curiot is a Mexican artist whose urban murals are an explosion of color and creativity.

Curiot

«In my visit to Germany I got a chance to paint with two really cool dudes Low Bros at FIT freie internationale tankstelle and this is the result of that fun collaboration.»

"El Retorno de Akhankutli 2 / The Return of Akhankutli 2"

Curiot (Favio Martinez) is a Mexican artist from Michoacan. Once took a liking to painting, he studied Visual Arts at the EPBA of Morelia.
In addition to painting, Curiot enjoys skateboarding, and uses it as an escape when he can't concentrate in his work.
His huge murals depict strange fusions of organic and inorganic; titanic beings in which the traditional iconography of Mexican culture is always present in the form of masks, feathers, poses ... A personal mythology rooted in the stories of his land which consolidates and interprets to create his own, expressing his concerns about the current state of humanity.

«What inspires me greatly is to see the work of an artist that interests me. Makes me want to produce when I see works that I love.»

Pintando en el Museo del Juguete / Painting in Toy Museum (Mujam)

«Everything starts with an idea and a piece of blank paper, I get to draw and depending on the result, I decide between wall or canvas. It is very strange because sometimes ideas flow smoothly and there are days that is hard to set them out of my head.»

Depuración de Gozundha / Debugging Gozundha

«I think the ratio is one of the biggest challenges to face, moving from a relatively small frame to a larger wall and how to carry out the execution of the mural when I have no crane or scaffolding.»
